According to Vogue’s trend report, the 1950s style is going to be all the rage this autumn/winter. We will be adding some lovely 1950s items for your perusal! Don’t forget our current selection of authentic 1950s items!

It has also been reported that sales of retro-style fashions are soaring, according to eBay.co.uk, as fashionistas flock to the site to snap up a Fifties look, inspired by TV show Mad Men. It seems that the full skirts, slingback heels and off-the-shoulder tops featured by the female characters in the series are inspiring fashionistas everywhere!

Ebay has reported that sales of full skirts are up by 252%, with prom dresses making the third most searched for term in the women’s fashion category. Fifties-style kitten heel sales have jumped by 140%, while sling-backs have soared by a staggering 600%.  Even red lipstick sales have increased!!

These figures reflect vintage isnpired items, as well as 1950s originals, rest assured, everything we have in store is the real thing!

Don’t forget the Galway Vintage Fair is on this month on 12th September. Also Frock Around the Clock is hosting a vintage fashion fair in Belfast on the 26th September. There is also a vintage day being held at Derry’s in Co. Armagh on Saturday 18th September – so there is no excuse to get yourself kitted out for this season’s retro trends with all these vintage events being held up and down the country!

Little Blue Cottage will unfortunately not be attending these events this month as I am expecting my new baby to arrive any day – I will of course keep you updated on that! But that doesn’t mean I am not at home listing goodies on the website!!! So keep checking back for new items!
