Mary Poppins Messenger Vintage 1980s Beige Carpet Bag by Rougham of Suffolk

Description: This little purse is a great example of a real carpet bag. It is a flat messenger style bag, and when worn, the bag sits near the hip. In fact this bag could be worn across the body for additional security. It is made by Rougham of Suffolk, famed for the original carpet bag factory, big in the 80s.

This bag is in great condition with little signs of use, it has a velcro fastening, is labelled and even has a curtain cord strap to add to the “upholstery” theme!

A real vintage piece of interest.
